Jaden is a software engineer with over seven years' experience with .NET. He started through a degree apprenticeship in 2018 and graduated in 2023 with First Class Honours, including an individual award for his dissertation. He has worked on large, high-profile systems, including migrating applications to containers on Kubernetes and building APIs and CI/CD pipelines. Most recently he was tech lead for an AI trial that built tools for engineering teams. He is a Certified Kubernetes Administrator.

Jaden was AI Trial Tech Lead on a large programme, setting technical direction across the AI trial, front-end tooling and the programme's ways of working. He led a cross-functional delivery team and managed its backlog as requirements changed. He designed AI agents that generate low-level designs (architecture diagrams, database schemas, code changes) and built a front-end tool that turns Figma designs and screenshots into React applications, adopted by multiple projects in the modernisation programme. He also took part in AI governance discussions and presented to senior stakeholders.

Senior .NET Software Engineer Lead
Jaden led development of several microservices on a cross-border trade-data programme, working at both implementation and architecture level. He built an automation tool that processes about 3 million test cases from live logs, and added an Azure dashboard to monitor system performance. He also ran code reviews and mentored other engineers.

Java/.NET Software Engineer Lead
On a work-pricing tool, Jaden introduced Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines that fully automated deployments, built a contract creation service that replaced a manual, Excel-based process, and led the design of a migration strategy to .NET 8. On a digital service, he led development of an API and ran knowledge-transfer sessions on it, along with sessions on code management and deployment. He then led the migration of a legacy application to a containerised Windows Server 2019 environment on an internal container platform, handing it over through documentation, knowledge-transfer sessions and live demos. In the same project he learned Java and Spring Boot to take ownership of a high-priority microservice, refactoring legacy logic and improving test coverage.

.NET Software Engineer Lead
Jaden developed Azure Functions that work with Azure Service Bus and an Azure SQL database, scripted the CI/CD pipeline that builds, tests and deploys them, and wrote developer documentation. While development slowed on complex requirements, he built a SpecFlow test automation solution and rewrote user stories so each function's role was clear. He also set up docfx to generate documentation from C# code and ran one session for the team on how it works.

.NET Software Engineer Lead
Jaden led development of an API whose endpoints run Oracle stored procedures, the first .NET application hosted on Amazon EKS in that environment. He wrote its Helm charts and the GitLab CI/CD script that deploys it to multiple environments, and configured mTLS and the Traefik ingress controller. He led the migration of an ASP.NET application from an out-of-support on-premises Windows server to Amazon EKS using Windows containers, the first of its kind in that environment, writing the GitLab pipelines and Helm charts and running knowledge-transfer sessions with the DevOps team. On a web-application renovation he completed code reviews, designed the high-level solution, branching strategy and database structure, and built several Razor screens. On a separate client project, as a .NET Software Engineer, he built CRUD endpoints on Microsoft Dataverse for a migration off an Oracle database, deployed with Azure Pipelines and managed through Azure API Management.

For several years Jaden implemented and deployed the annual rule changes to a set of calculators in the live environment, and taught others how to deploy them to each environment. As a Dynamics 365 developer he implemented regular technical changes to two large public-facing services and handled client interactions for them. He also developed processes and web pages for a client's forum site, wrote the documentation needed for live changes, and deployed them. Since June 2019, as part of the team that administers the delivery centre's vCD and TFS environments, he wrote a script that creates a new Azure DevOps project, cutting a 30-minute task to 5 minutes, and he answers engineers' queries about those environments. From 2020 to 2022 he ran monthly squad calls and one-to-ones to pass engineer feedback to delivery-centre management.

.NET Software Engineer
Jaden was a key developer on a migration of on-premises Windows servers to Azure virtual machines, helping lift and shift a number of applications. He led development of a service on an internal container platform that copies a file into an Amazon S3 bucket and notifies a second service to move it to a central audit store, and wrote documentation and ran knowledge-transfer sessions for it. He learned Docker quickly and used it to show that three applications could be containerised, then containerised a fourth, leading stakeholder meetings, running demos and writing the technical documentation. As lead test engineer on a Power App built quickly at the start of the Covid pandemic, he tested it before it reached the client and volunteered for out-of-hours support. As Power Platform Lead on a newly formed squad he wrote templates for live service manuals, set up an Office 365 group for sharing solutions, and worked with the test lead to template the squad's project lifecycle. He ran code reviews and sprint ceremonies on the squad's Power Platform projects, including an induction app, and built a tool that gives an events team a view of upcoming events and schedules resources by calendar invite.

Jaden worked as a software engineer while studying for a BSc in Digital and Technology Solutions (Software Engineer). He graduated in 2023 with First Class Honours and an individual award for his dissertation. As student representative for his apprentice cohort, he attended regular meetings with the university's module team, raised the cohort's questions and concerns, and relayed the responses back.

Under-17s coach and club treasurer
Jaden is an active member of Aldridge Cricket Club, where he coaches the under-17s and has been treasurer since 2024. He is working towards becoming an ECB-qualified coach (England and Wales Cricket Board).

Six-month sabbatical
Between September 2023 and April 2024 Jaden took six months out to travel around the world, travelling solo through eight countries.

World Challenge, Norway
Jaden completed a World Challenge expedition in Norway with a team of fellow challengers: white-water rafting, a two-day canoeing challenge and a three-day trek. He part-funded the trip by packing bags at a supermarket, washing cars and selling drinks and snacks at a car boot sale.

Workshops for children with special needs
Jaden volunteered with a charity that runs workshops, plays and activities for children with special needs and their families. He helped the children with activities such as making cards, painting, making Easter baskets and decorating calendars.
